Some universities really know how to crank out world-class athletes. Can you guess which university is the most Olympic-prolific? The answer might surprise you.
According to FoxSports, brainy Stanford University sent more athletes to the Beijing Olympics in 2008 than any other school. 47 Stanford athletes competed and won a combined 8 gold medals.
Other top Olympian U’s include the University of Texas, and the University of Southern California. UT had 23 students or former students at the 2008 games, who took home a combined 10 gold medals.
USC holds the all-time record with 123 gold medals. In fact, if USC were a country, its gold medal count would rank twelfth among all nations.
