UCSF cancels class taught by ‘whites are psychopaths’ lecturer

DEI speaker once wrote that America was created ‘by diabolical, #White, “ultra-religious” maniacs, and psychopathic sociopaths’

A diversity, equity, and inclusion lecturer who made the comment that “whites are psychopaths” will not be teaching a scheduled anti-racism class at the University of California San Francisco’s medical school this winter.

DEI lecturer Dante King (pictured) and the public university mutually agreed to cancel the class, “Understanding the Roots of Racism and Bias: Anti-Blackness, and Its Links to Whiteness, White Racism, Privilege, and Power 2024,” The San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The two-day online continuing education course for medical professionals had been scheduled for February.

The reason that King, who is African American, gave was backlash to his past remarks and writings, which some have described as racist toward white people.

The Chronicle pointed to a recent article by the conservative news outlet Campus Reform about his upcoming class as a source of the criticism:

UCSF, which has hosted King’s continuing-education class multiple times a year since 2021, gave no explanation for the reversal. Administrators said only that it’s happening by mutual agreement with King.

King said he and UCSF officials have agreed “that the attention the course is receiving could lead to more harm than good for me personally, for my family and for the (UCSF) organization. So it was best, in this political moment — this cultural moment — to dissolve this relationship.”

Last year, King gave a talk at UCSF about “White Psychopathology, Collective Psychosis and Trauma in America,” The College Fix reported at the time.

In a viral video created by Young America’s Foundation highlighting parts of the lecture, King said: “Whites are psychopaths. And their behavior represents an underlying, biologically transmitted proclivity with roots deep in their evolutionary history.”

King accused the conservative organization of taking his remarks out of context, but YAF spokesperson Spencer Brown defended the video clip.

“Selecting highlights is standard practice in social media exposés,” Brown told The Chronicle. “Even in the full context of the more than hour-long, university-sponsored tirade, it’s undeniable that Mr. King’s lessons are blatantly racist.”

An author and DEI speaker, King has given lectures at a number of prominent institutions, including the Mayo Clinic and UCSF, in recent years. He also has worked with the San Francisco city government on “equity programs,” according to the report.

After the YAF video came out last February, the Mayo Clinic canceled King’s lecture contract, The Chronicle reports.

King is the author of the book, “The 400-Year Holocaust: White America’s Legal, Psychopathic, and Sociopathic Black Genocide — and the Revolt Against Critical Race Theory.”

In a post dated May 2023 on King’s website, he wrote that America “was legally and socially constructed by diabolical, #White, ‘ultra-religious’ maniacs, and psychopathic sociopaths who assumed authority through treacherous acts of violence.”
