Snoop Dogg’s Son Offered UCLA Scholarship

Just weeks after offering a full scholarship to the son of Hip Hop Mogul P. Diddy, aka Puff Daddy, aka Sean Combs, UCLA announced that is was offering a football scholarship to a Diamond Bar, CA high school student who just happens to be the son of the multi-platinum selling rapper Snoop Dogg.

We’d like to know. Is UCLA going to offer full football scholarships to the children of 50 Cent, Eminem, Lil’ Wayne, Young Jeezy, Young Buck, Nelly, Flava Flave, and the Wu Tang Clan, as well, or is the recent windfall for the sons of hip-hop’s super rich mere coincidence? And what about Blue Ivy–the recently born daughter of the billion-dollar couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé–doesn’t she deserve a break paying for college? Let’s hope little Blue can punt, tackle, or block at the Division 1 level. Her hopes of getting a free ride at UCLA may depend on it.

So many questions here: Is this just a publicity stunt? And should UCLA offer these scholarships to financially needy students instead of the children of wealthy rap stars? Or is the fame and wealth of the parents irrelevant? What do you think?
