The San Fransisco Library has been receiving a lot of complaints lately. Visitors are increasingly viewing graphic pornography on public computers, out in plain view of other library patrons.
What was the library’s response? They didn’t move to filter out lewd content on their computers. Instead, they installed plastic screens to try to block monitors from being viewed by others nearby.
According to a New York Times report, library officials in San Francisco would rather help the public view porn a bit more discreetly than try to censor content. Never mind if children happen to be walking by and these “plastic screens” fail to fully obscure the graphic images.
What’s next for the San Francisco library? Strippers in private rooms doing live library peep shows? Nothing officials do in notoriously liberal San Francisco would surprise us.
