Women’s swim team members slam Biden and Harris’ ‘anti-woman, sex-based discrimination’ at Trump rally
Seven Roanoke College women’s swim team members backed Donald Trump at his rally Saturday in Salem, Virginia, over the issue of trans-identifying males competing in women’s sports.
“As female athletes especially, we know that men have an inherent advantage over women in sports, and due to current policies, though, men are competing against women of all ages in all sports,” the team’s captain, Lily Mullens, said according to recordings of the rally.
“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have advocated for and pushed for this anti-woman, sex-based discrimination to continue all over this country. And point-blank, it’s unfair,” she said.
Mullens thanked Trump “for standing with women and promising to protect the rights of all of us.”
“We are so lucky to have a leader like Donald Trump — with common sense — who knows what a strong woman is and will fight for generations of girls to come,” she said.

The women’s swim team wore shirts that read, “Keep [hot dogs] out of women’s sports.”
Before Mullens spoke, Trump said that “the radical Left’s gender insanity arrived right here in Salem when a man was allowed to transfer onto the Roanoke College women’s swim team.”
“The brave members of the swim team stood up to the transgender fanatics. Something new in our country,” he said.
Trump also said he would “keep men out of women’s sports.”
Following the rally, Roanoke College President Frank Shushok stated that “The College was unaware of their participation, and they represent only their individual points of view.”
“Our students, including those with diverse political perspectives and those with LGBTQ+ identities, are gifts to our community and are deeply valued,” Shushok stated.
Last year, Roanoke College decided to allow men to compete with women after a transgender student requested to join the women’s swim team, The College Fix previously reported.
However, the male student dropped his request, even after the school rushed to figure out a way to accommodate him. Meanwhile, some members of the women’s swim team held a press conference to voice their opposition to the male swimmer’s request.
Roanoke College women’s swim team members are not the only ones facing this issue. This fall, five collegiate women’s teams forfeited to San Jose State University due to a male, trans-identifying athlete on the team.
