RNC Hires National Youth Director To Help Woo Young Voters

The Republican National Committee has announced that it has hired a National Youth Director “to strengthen relationships with young voters across the country.”

“(Elliott) Echols will build a grassroots infrastructure with the under-30 community by engaging with young voters in their communities, strengthening the party’s ties with College Republicans and Young Republicans and working with state parties to have a permanent presence across the country,” RNC officials stated, billing the effort as a way to “build relationships with young voters and mobilize students and young professionals to take our message to their peers.”

Said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus: “This work isn’t just for 2014; it will outlast any one cycle or campaign. Young Americans are independent-minded people who are concerned about getting our nation’s economy back on track and I look forward to getting their input on how we move forward as a country and as a party.”
