The University of North Dakota has banned alcohol at fraternity and sorority events for the remainder of the academic year. The crack down is a response to a series of unruly incidents involving public nudity and alleged assaults.
Greek organizations that violate the new policy could be stripped of recruitment and/or social privileges.
Several other universities have instituted similar alcohol bans for Greek organizations recently, including the University of Central Florida (following the death of a freshman girl in 2011), Southern Illinois University; the University of Northern Colorado, and the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.
