Progressives Miffed at U. of South Carolina Upstate for Replacing Gender Studies Center

Ryan Wilson, executive director of the SC Equality gay-rights advocacy group, said he looks forward to students – and some lawmakers – hearing more about equal protection and freedom of expression.

“It’s a sad day for USC Upstate,” SC Equality’s Wilson said.

Daniel Greenfield at FrontPage Mag points to a (South Carolina) Morning News Online editorial which says Upstate’s decision to close the center was “a chilling act of retribution,” and that it “wasn’t sure” if “reciting the Bill of Rights” qualifies as college-level discourse and preparation for the real world.
