The University of Missouri’s Melissa Click has been charged with third degree assault for her actions during a campus protest back in November, ABC 17 reports.
At the time, Mizzou police handed over documents related to the case to prosecutors.
Mizzou student Mark Schierbecker had filed a “municipal simple assault” complaint against Click with university police after the incident, claiming “she physically and verbally assaulted him.”
Earlier this month, state lawmakers had demanded Click’s ouster, and one legislator proposed a bill which would require the study of First Amendment rights at state colleges.
