Talk about cultural appropriation.
A “sex-positive” student group at Brandeis University is holding a “tasting” event tonight promoting oral sex, called “Lick of the Irish,” Campus Reform reports:
“Come join us in the SSIS office to learn safe and sexy cunnilingus techniques—with our help, you will master the lick of the irish [sic], just in time for St. Patty’s day,” the event’s description on said.
The group, SSIS, appears to be unaware that its workshop is a day late – St. Patrick’s Day was Wednesday.
A Catholic student was offended, telling Campus Reform the event shouldn’t have been promoted alongside a holiday honoring a Catholic saint:
“I don’t think that miracle had happened [St. Patrick’s claimed expulsion of snakes from Ireland] so people could learn how to orally pleasure a woman,” the student added.
As a “secured” student club, the sex-positive group can’t be de-chartered, and it gets a fixed amount in student funds each semester, according to Campus Reform.
The club held its first cunnilingus workshop the same week last year but didn’t advertise it in connection with St. Patrick’s Day.
