Every Tuesday, Columbia publishes an “Update on Columbia Football.” You can read the latest edition here. You’ll see a picture of a large crowd attending a game. The blackface photo controversy comes on the heels of another race-related controversy at Columbia. Chad Washington, 19, a member of the Columbia football team, who happens to be black himself, has been charged with a hate crime for “roughing up” a fellow student and making anti-Asian remarks.
The two incidents appear to be unrelated.
