200 High Schools in Pennsylvania have been told to stop performing the National Anthem at hockey games because it’s too costly and it takes too much time.
“The national anthem should not be played on because of time constrains,” Ed Sam, commissioner of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League told television station KDKA. “It’s not that we’re not patriotic, that’s the furthest from the truth.”
Happy Veterans Day–all of you Pennsylvania students. (We assume your school administrators didn’t mention it to you–might take too much time, after all.)
