Arizona police have discovered an illegal narcotics manufacturing operation in an unexpected place–a college dorm room.
Detectives say the suspect in the case was making the drug ecstasy in his campus residence at Arizona State University.
The startling discovery began with a routine traffic stop in December. According to ABC News 10, police found a backpack in the suspect’s vehicle loaded with ecstasy and cocaine.
When they searched the student’s dorm room, the found “the room was essentially a pill factory. Detectives found 30 pounds of product used to make ecstasy pills in the apartment along with thousands of pills and a motorized pill press.”
Police have not yet released the suspect’s name, but say the 20-year-old suspect is facing numerous drug-related charges.
