Campus unrest continued nationwide over the weekend, including student demonstrators who completely thrashed a campus building they are “occupying” and demonstrators taking down the American flag and hoisting the Palestinian one in its place at Harvard University.
At Cal Poly Humboldt, many pro-Palestinian protesters have refused to leave despite administrative warnings and police demands, and have taken over at least one campus building, forcing the school to remain closed. An attempt by police to enter the building earlier in the week was thwarted by protesters resisting arrest, local news reports state, noting officers backed off to avoid a violent confrontation.
Images of the building surfaced on social media over the weekend, showing trash filling the hallways, vandalized walls, and broken furniture.

“A hard closure of campus is now being enforced through May 10, and individuals are prohibited from entering or being on campus without permission. Work and academic instruction will be remote,” university leaders announced Sunday night.
At Harvard University, videos of demonstrators taking down the American flag and hoisting the Palestinian one in its place went viral.
“Pro-Palestine student protesters at the Harvard Yard encampment flew three Palestinian flags from University Hall on Saturday evening,” the Harvard Crimson reported. “A group of three protesters hoisted the flags over the John Harvard statue in the Yard, where the University sometimes flies the American flag or flags of the countries of visiting foreign dignitaries.”
As many observers noted: “Harvard Jews respectfully asked the administration for an Israeli flag to be flown after October 7 and the request was rejected. As context, Ukraine flag flew for months after the Russian invasion.”

At a lengthy protest at George Washington University, one student held a sign supporting the genocide of Jewish people. Capitol police refused to address the protest, now in its fourth day, despite requests from campus officials, according to news reports.

“Dozens of anti-Israel protesters are still occupying the encampment and no violent incidents have taken place at George Washington so far, unlike in encampments on other college campuses,” National Review reported. “At a rally held at George Washington this week, a speaker was recorded saying, ‘There’s only one solution, intifada revolution. We must have a revolution so we can have a socialist reconstruction of the United States of America.’ What appeared to be hundreds of masked protesters gathered at the camp this weekend to chant ‘shame, shame, shame on you,’ and demand that the university divest from Israel ‘now, or go to hell.'”
A video that went viral over the weekend shows a Jewish UCLA student being blocked from entering a part of the public campus by pro-Palestinian protesters. In another viral video, a pro-Palestinian UCLA protester, an older white woman, is seen saying “you’re just a white person, we don’t like white people.”

A rowdy protest occupation at Yale University drew condemnations from administrators late Sunday, who told demonstrators they are impeding the ability of their peers to study and access parts of the campus “unless they declare political agreement with the protesters,” the Yale Daily News reported. The student newspaper also noted its reporters have even been blocked by the protesters.
