“Equality” at any cost–that’s the mantra of the folks running the Defense department these days.

Senior defense officials say Pentagon chief Leon Panetta is removing the military’s ban on women serving in combat, opening hundreds of thousands of front-line positions and potentially elite commando jobs after more than a decade at war.
The groundbreaking move recommended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff overturns a 1994 rule banning women from being assigned to smaller ground combat units…
And if the U.S. ever has to re-institute the draft? Will young women be forced into combat roles in that case? Or will this brand of “equality” be optional in that case? And why do we get the feeling that this decision has more to do with leftist politics than it does military readiness?
