On the evening of his victory, newly elected French president François Holland, former leader of the nation’s Socialist party, promised voters an end to austerity measures. This despite the fact that France and much of Europe remains on the brink of financial collapse.
First thing he wants to do is raise France’s already stiflingly high taxes. And the nation of France is now well on its way to becoming the socialist wasteland its deranged voters deserve.
“Austerity is no longer a fate.” he said. “tell Germany that, in the name of friendship that binds us, and in the name of the responsibility we share.” And the crowd cheered.
We’ll see if they’re sill cheering a couple of years from now. My guess is they’ll be too busy fighting for position in the breadline.
