The A&T Register reports:
MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry was the keynote speaker at the 30-year celebration of Greensboro’s Planned Parenthood clinic last Thursday.
During her address to the attendants of the event, Harris-Perry shared her personal story of how planned parenthood and reproductive technology played a part in her personal life.
“Because I had a private doctor and had good insurance, I was able to get an abortion without anyone knowing besides the fact that I shared it with them…”
Planned Parenthood is currently hoping to raise $5 million to pay for upgrading several abortion clinics in North Carolina, which currently do not comply with new regulations from the N.C. Department of Health.
While Harris-Perry found time out of her busy schedule to make the trip to North Carolina for the abortion clinic anniversary event, countless unborn babies treated at the clinic over the decades were unable to attend the “celebration.”
