Protests in response to the shooting of Trayvon Martin have taken place on college campuses across the country over the past week.
At Metropolitan State University in Minnesota:
Near the end of the rally, participants marched around Northrop Mall chanting, “No justice, no peace.”
“In a spirit of unity, we will gather to affirm that every person in this community is valuable.”
At Eastern Kentucky University a protest organizer said:
“Why is there a murderer out there free right now?…We want to raise awareness so that this stuff doesn’t happen again.”
