Liberals dominate 2011 commencement addresses

If you’ve gotten the impression that this year’s round of college commencement speakers has a decidedly leftward  lean, you are correct. A new report by the Young America’s Foundation documents the commencement speakers at each of the top 100 at the top 100 colleges (according to U.S. News & World Report).

Of the 51 speakers who were readily recognizable, only 13 were conservative. On the liberal side, seven of Obama’s cabinet secretaries were asked to speak. In the last two years, Obama administrators have made 16 commencement appearances. Bush cabinet secretaries made only 14 such appearances during his entire eight years in office.
