The College Fix is pleased to announce that Nathan Rubbelke has joined the staff as an investigative and enterprise reporter.
In this capacity, Rubbelke will uncover and expose many of the major concerns facing higher education today, including curriculum bias, classroom indoctrination, campus political correctness, racial strife, professorial malfeasance, and many other issues.
Rubbelke will also be dispatched to campuses nationwide to observe and report firsthand on the latest shenanigans, uproars and other pressing matters among college students and their educators.
Rubbelke is a 2016 graduate of Saint Louis University, where he majored in political science and sociology.
He was most recently a county government and police reporter with The Commercial Review daily newspaper in Portland, Indiana. Prior to that, Rubbelke reported for The College Fix during his final two years of college, writing articles picked up by the Drudge Report, Fox News and many other news outlets.
In the summer of 2015 he served as a College Fix/Student Free Press Association journalism fellow at The Washington Examiner. He has also interned with Red Alert Politics and the National Journalism Center and has served an internship with St. Louis Public Radio.
Rubbelke said he is excited to return to higher education reporting.
“It’s a subject I really enjoyed covering during my days as a student reporter for The College Fix,” he said. “It’s also a joy to be back with a news organization dedicated to original reporting with an emphasis on mentoring the next batch of this country’s journalists.”
“As an enterprise/investigate reporter, I hope to help expand and build on the The College Fix’s coverage of campus issue,” he added. “I will work to dig deeper on prominent issues and keep an eye on the latest breaking news and stories.”
College Fix editor Jennifer Kabbany said she and her colleagues are thrilled to welcome Rubbelke to the staff.
Rubbelke comes with a solid foundation in straight news journalism and a strong desire to add to the high caliber of reporting regular readers have come to expect from The College Fix, she said.
“Nathan is a talented, driven and intelligent reporter and we are incredibly blessed to add him to our roster,” Kabbany said. “We are excited to give him a wide-open platform to report on the very important topic of the degradation of higher education.”
