That’s the opinion of one resident of gang-infested Chicagoland. Asked to comment on the surging violence in his neighborhood, he said politicians like Congressman Bobby Rush are spending too much time posing for photo ops in hoodies and sensationalizing the Trayvon Martin case, and not enough time addressing real violence on the streets, which another neighborhood resident likened to “World War 17.”
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Most of the politicians that are from Chicago just like Trayvon Martin case, you know yes, Bobby Rush on the House floor in a hoodie when people are dying in this district.
BOBBY RUSH: Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think that’s kind of hypocritical. And that’s my honest opinion.
