No university has ever passed up grant money, even for studying something as seemingly pointless as knowing the impact of fur color on feline adoption rates.
Colorado State University recently sent out a press release, offering details on just such a study:
Kogan and CSU colleagues recently examined color-coded adoption data, and verified a long-held belief that cats with black coats stay longer in shelters. That’s worrisome for black cats – even cute black kittens…
This is what’s commonly known as “junk science.” It’s research with no apparent purpose to it.
This study is real. And we’re pretty sure someone spent money for it. Specifically, since this is a public university, so we’re pretty sure that you–the taxpayer–paid for it.
Whatever you’d like to do with this information you paid for, dear taxpayer, is entirely up to you.
