Tragic news from a movie theater in Colorado: A 24-year-old man opened fire during the premiere of the new “Batman” movie, killing 12 people and wounding nearly 40 others.
The shooter, James Holmes, is a former neuroscience student at the University of Colorado. He enrolled in the fall of 2011, but dropped out in June of the following year.
Holmes’ mother told reporters that her son was indeed responsible for the shooting, according to the Huffington Post:
“You have the right person,” she said, apparently speaking on instinct and not second-guessing her son would be involved. “I need to call the police … I need to fly out to Colorado.”
