Harvard University appears to have two standards when it comes to repatriating items.
The university goes out of its way to return items belonging to Native American tribes, even flying them out and giving them lodging.
But the school’s Houghton Library says it plans to keep a relic of St. Sebastian, as The College Fix recently reported.
Relics are pieces of a saint, items they owned, or something they touched. Catholics often venerate them as a way to remember saints. They are found in Catholic altars and many churches keep them for worship and education.
Associate Editor Matt Lamb recently discussed this issue on Iowa Catholic Radio with Mike Manno, a deacon.
