The drama surrounding Professor Steven Salaita seemingly has come to a conclusion of sorts.
The professor, whose viruently anti-Israel tweets cost him a job at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has landed a position of chair of American Studies at the American University of Beirut:
I'm thrilled to announce that I will serve as the Edward W. Said Chair of American Studies at #AUB for the 2015-16 academic year.

The Chronicle of Higher Education notes that the University of Illinois has not offered any comment on the matter as of yet.
