Black teacher who alleged pro-Trump harassment now sues school over racism

Teacher and attorney claim video evidence of ‘widespread racism’

The black Beverly Hills High School teacher who last month alleged pro-Trump students “harassed” and “intimidated” her and others on Election Day is now suing her school over “widespread racism.”

Fashion teacher Bella Ivory, also faculty advisor for the school’s Black Student Union, along with several students had alleged pro-Trump students “scream[ed] profanities and slurs” (which included the n-word) and tried to force their way into Ivory’s class.

Other minority students had recounted dealing with “a lot of racism,” with one claiming he saw racial epithets scrawled on bathroom walls.

Video evidence available to the public, however, did not indicate racial undercurrents to the impromptu pro-Trump student rally, nor were any photos or videos presented of racist graffiti.

A student’s cell phone did record Ivory saying “If anything happens to me at this school, my family will come for your families.” Ivory later claimed she wasn’t issuing threats and that the audio had been “edited.”

This past week, Ivory sued the Beverly Hills Unified School District claiming “widespread racism on campus” and that school officials “failed to address multiple incidents,” NewsNation reports.

Ivory (pictured) and attorney Brad Gage said they have “documented several instances of alleged racist behavior, including racial slurs, offensive comments and intimidating conduct targeting Black, Latino and LGBTQ+ students.”

They alleged Beverly Hills HS officials have been “aware of these problems” but have taken no action to stop them.

FOX 11 reports Gage said he and his client have a “disturbing” video clip of two female students filming the school cafeteria: “Let’s take a minute to appreciate how nice, beautiful, and clean our cafeteria looks right now,” one girl says. “Now let’s fast-forward to lunch” whereupon the video shows black students eating. The girls then say “This is disgusting… I’m repulsed.”

Gage said the video’s message is “clear”: The girls were “associating the presence of Black students with the cafeteria being dirty. That is the epitome of racism.”

Gage also said there is video of a student “filming feces on the floor of a bathroom before zooming in on a racist comment on the wall.” It’s unclear if this is the same incident as that alleged previously.

In addition, Ivory reiterated her claims about Election Day where students in MAGA hats and “carrying a Trump flag” marched through school “shouting profanities like ‘F*** Kamala'” and “congregat[ed] in front of [her] classroom.”

The lawsuit alleges “discrimination, harassment, retaliation, racial comments, and physical threats.”
