Black Students Slam Obama Over Obamacare, Say They’re Disappointed In Him

Several black college students at Bowie State University in Maryland are pissed at President Barack Obama because their low-cost student health insurance plan was cancelled due to Affordable Care Act regulations.

Reporter Katherine Timpf of Campus Reform interviewed several students at the campus recently who made a variety of disparaging remarks about the president, saying things such as they are disappointed in him, he should have done more research on the effects of Obamacare, and he has let the black community down, according to a video of the interviews.

“You haven’t done anything Obama, and I am disappointed in you,” said one student in the video. “He said he is for his people, but actually he’s not. He is actually putting money in white people’s pocket instead putting in money to help the black people out.”

Said another student who voted for Obama: “At first I was with it, now I don’t really think it’s benefiting us students. … I am very disappointed.”

When asked what to do about health insurance, one student replied: “Not get sick.”

In a statement to Campus Reform, Bowie State said it was confident that Obamacare would fill the void left by the canceled plans.

“Most students are now able to be covered under their parent’s health plans up to age 26 at no additional cost and new affordable coverage is becoming available through the Maryland State Insurance Exchange System,” it read.

Bowie State is one of many colleges across the nation that have had to cancel insurance plans because of Obamacare regulations. For example, the law designed to provide health insurance for young people actually left a swarm of New Jersey college students without it.

Many healthy students across America say they just need cheap, catastrophic plans for emergencies, and are surprised and frustrated to learn that’s no longer an option under Obamacare, which forces young people to get super comprehensive plans, such as the ones historically purchased by parents with children.

At a recent Obamacare information meeting at San Diego State University, for example, students were visibly upset to learn how much the new federal health insurance will truly cost them.
