Pike brothers Tyler Fishbone, Charlie Rybak, and Jesse Rose have a rather interesting plan for the November 11th Westboro counterprotest– they want everyone to be “gay for a day.”
The three have created t-shirts that proclaim in bold letters, “I’m gay for a day.” The message on the shirt is a repudiation of the Westboro Church’s belief that “the current generation of college students have been taught to disobey God and serve the lusts of their flesh.” The three students met with a representative from Allied in Pride to “insure [the idea] will not be misunderstood.” The shirts are only $8 each and cover the expense of the t-shirts and shipping, and according to Rybak any excess money will be donated to a charity to be determined.
For only $8, you can own a little piece of GW history. The shirts are available for purchase on PayPal and students will be emailed once they arrive on campus to be distributed.
