Attendees of the Iowa State-Iowa game Saturday may have been able to catch a glimpse of a presidential candidate.
Michele Bachmann, Minnesota representative and presidential candidate, attended the Cy-Hawk pregame tailgating this weekend in an effort to interact directly with the people of Iowa, her associates said.
“I thought this would be a good environment for her to come out and interact with people,” said Iowa Sen. Jack Whitver, who helped host her tailgate.
Bachmann spent the early part of the morning meeting and greeting with constituents, but soon departed from her tent to mingle among tailgaters.
“She adapted well. I felt that when she was on the scene, she got to be herself,” said Iowa Sen. Mark Chelgren.
