Lethal Weapon actor Danny Glover recently spoke at the University of Florida, where he told students that “organizing and protesting” are necessary to force political change. He also spoke out in support of Occupy Wall Street: “You have to be here 24/7 because this moment’s going to pass,” he told students.
Students associated with the movement have clashed with administrators and battled police at several campuses in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, after a wave of sexual assaults, overdoses, shootings, and other public health and safety concerns, cities across the country began clearing out Occupy camp sites from public grounds.
So far as we can tell, the actor’s words of support have been inadequate to revive the waning Occupy movement. And Glover’s prediction: “this moment’s going to pass,” appears to have been nothing short of prophetic.
We have just one question though: Isn’t Danny Glover part of the 1%?
Looks like Florida students got a heavy dose of Hollywood hot air from a world-class limousine liberal.
