A feisty new class of regents at the University of Minnesota had demanded the school halt its implementation of the affirmative-consent standard for student sex, known as “yes means yes,” until they could review the policy.
The school’s top lawyer has now reviewed the policy, but the public won’t get to see that analysis, Minnesota Daily reports:
The document was released to regents last week. Though the board requested that the counsel review the legality at a public meeting earlier this month to help guide its discussion on the topic, the University won’t make the findings public, University spokesperson Lacey Nygard said, citing attorney-client privilege.
The regents haven’t settled on a date to discuss the policy proposal, but the board’s next meeting is in September, the paper says.
